What is a "Persora"?
If you're wondering this, I'll tell you with as much detail as possible.
A persora (as well as persona) is a fantasized or anime version of a person in real life. Basically, a personification of an RL self. I did that too but exaggerated on my appearance a bit. Yes you can do that. Creating persoras is very simple; being aware of what suits your persora and what doesn't is entirely up to you. It's like character customization--you can change and adjust almost every detail to your liking anytime, anywhere.
If you're not sure how to make your own persora, here are some tips to get you started:
Find a movie, TV, game, show, book, anime, manga, etc. that you like the most. It can be based off of multiple type of media or just one.
If you are a role-player of online video games, you can use that character in that game. (Ex: Skyrim, World of Warcraft, AQW, Lucent Heart, Fiesta, Le Tale, Gaia, etc.)
You can use an avatar maker and customize your avatar. If you're satisfied with the avatar, draw it!
Find some character references on the internet and experiment a little. Don't be afraid to tweak a few styles here and there. Once you have a complete persora, see if you're happy with it. If you like it, then you're done! If not, then keep working on it.

I've seen a lot of persoras on dA but that's okay. I can't add /every/ persora out there in my gallery. You remember my persora, Skyward Vixen, right? Originally, I based my idea from a certain character from LoZ: Skyward Sword and it's pretty obvious by now. Yep, you guessed it: Ghirahim. This idea came to me because of his powers, style, fashion, personality, and attacks. I did notice how unusually effeminate he is but that's the fun part. I took parts of the concept and added it to my character then mixed it with my personality and behavior with a touch of my sense of fashion and viola! Skyward Vixen is born! Afterwards on my very first drawing of Skyward Vixen, I figured the weapon she was holding was large and heavy. Almost the same weight as Ghirahim's broadsword. Then I started to piece my thoughts on it. It didn't come all at once but in small bits. I've started thinking about the weapons she welds, her attitude towards others, her neutral alliance with Hylia after the betrayal of Demise, her dexterity and skills, and the strength she hones. I don't want to go over the top and end up making her (or myself) as a Mary Sue. Otherwise, it would be unfair to others. Let alone, become a spotlight hogger.
Well that's all I can say. If you have any persora pictures that you want to display in the gallery, send them here and/or in any other Affiliating groups! We'll be happy to see your artwork!! |
